Company History
Founded in 1985 by Maine entrepreneur Ronald C. Coffin, originally from Presque Isle, Maine, First Atlantic HealthCare remains a locally run company owned and managed by Mainers for Mainers.
As a local family business, we understand and connect to the needs of families requiring important healthcare services. This is why we have sought, through strategic partnerships with hospital systems and through acquisitions, to maintain a network of modern facilities throughout the state so that Mainers can access care as close to home as possible.
Now, 40+ years removed from our founding, First Atlantic manages 20+ facilities state wide and is in the process of updating the physical infrastructure of facilities under management in an effort to reaffirm our commitment to providing the highest quality patient centered skilled nursing, skilled rehabilitation, long term care and assisted living services in comfortable environments available to Mainers.
